Shaping Quality with Expertise: An Insightful Interview with our Test Architect

Test Architect

Can you tell us about your role at Qnit and the key areas you specialize in?

Absolutely!  I’m currently working as a Test Architect and Test Automation Engineer at Qnit in Munich. My primary role involves setting up test architectures using Tricentis Tosca, automating test cases, and seamlessly integrating them into the CI/CD pipeline.

Tell us how you initially got interest in QA and how you got started in this field?

I’ve always been a bit of a perfectionist, always wanting to make things work smoothly. I love coding, and I love making sure things are done right. That’s why I was drawn to QA. I started as a Test Automation Engineer because it combined the best of both worlds: coding and quality assurance. I could automate repetitive tasks, making things more efficient, and at the same time, ensure that our software was was of the highest standard. It was a perfect fit for me, and I’m really passionate about it.

How has your expertise grown since joining Qnit, and what are some skills you've developed over time?

Since joining Qnit, my expertise has grown significantly, particularly in test architecture and test automation. I’ve had the opportunity to work on complex and interesting projects, which have challenged me to think creatively and apply problem-solving skills in new ways. I’ve also enhanced my ability to collaborate effectively with different teams, ensuring our automated tests integrate seamlessly into the overall development process. Additionally, Qnit has been very supportive of our growth, providing plenty of opportunities to learn new tools and skills through various trainings. It’s been an exciting journey so far, and I’m really looking forward to continuing to expand my knowledge and grow in my career!

What’s the most exciting project or task you've worked on?

The most exciting project I’ve worked on was setting up the test automation infrastructure for three teams and more than 10 projects across different areas, including SAP, Mobile, Frontend, and Backend. Working together with my Qnit colleagues, we were able to implement best practices in test automation right from the beginning. This effort provided a solid foundation for our client, giving them a reliable baseline to continue their automation journey with confidence and efficiency.

What has been your highlight so far in your time with us?

My highlight so far at Qnit has definitely been our team events. I really enjoy the opportunities to have fun together outside of work, especially the skiing events in winter. It’s a great way to bond with colleagues and build stronger connections while enjoying some time away from the office.
